When the dot com crash hit in 2000 my career was just getting started, I was very keen to develop my talent & knowledge, so I took up working as a freelancer.
For over ten years now I have honed my skills as a Web designer, strategist and project manager by running a small web design studio, Evoke Media. Working from my home office over the last few years, and managing other freelancers, has allowed me to have the flexibility I desire. Having worked remotely in Thailand, to arranging my schedule to sneak out on sunny days to go kiteboarding or mountain biking, I feel successful knowing I have the freedom to do such things.
My drive and passion for running a small business has led me to the world of entrepreneurship. This world satisfies my creative mind, work ethic and sense of adventure. Curious by nature I tend to be an early adopter. I love discovering the latest Web & social trends, new gadgets and technologies. This combined with my past experience, knowledge and skills, led me to focus my energy on developing online startups. Knowing the sky is the limit is very liberating! Online startup ventures have a positive impact on income, but only if you put in the hard work, are open-minded and focus to attain your end goals.
